Hull reserve keeper looking forward to Grimsby loan

Hull City keeper Mark Oxley says his loan move to Grimsby Town can help him to gain valuable first-team experience. The 19-year-old said: "I've been looking to get out on-loan for the last couple of weeks.

"I want some first-team experience under my belt and coming to Grimsby will help with that.

"I want to help the boys get up the table. It's been good in training.

"I know Jamie Devitt, of course. But they all seem like a nice bunch of lads."

"It's not about where Grimsby are in the league for me - it's about first-team football," he added. "Playing in front of a couple of hundred is a lot different to running out in front of a couple of thousand.

"It's a massive step up but it's better to play first-team than be stuck in the reserves.

"Hopefully, I can prove myself and if the club wants me to stay for another month after that, I'd look forward to doing that."
