Hull mentor says Man Utd signing James 'excites you'

A former junior coach of Daniel James says the departing Swansea City winger can handle his move to Manchester United.

Neil Mann worked with James as a youth teamer at Hull City.

He told Hull Live: "Dan came in at under-9s I believe and it was clear from an early age that the kid had talent.

“You could see he could play.

“Dan would often play in age groups above himself so at 14 he was playing in the under-16s because he was that quick.

“We used to take him everywhere with us. We took him to youth team games as a young kid just to see that environment and try to accelerate his development. He's train with the youth team at 14 or 15 and not look out of place.

"He was one of those players that when he picked the ball up you'd think 'Here we go, something's going to happen here.' He excited you. He was a real handful to play against. Not just because of his speed but his intelligence, his technical ability, his ability to run almost as quick with the ball as he can without it. He'd glide across the pitch."
