Hull loanees give Arsenal fans something to smile about

Arsenal may have slumped to an embarrassing 2-0 loss to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, but it's not all bad news for Gunners fans, with several of their young stars impressing on loan at the weekend.

Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden made their debuts for Hull, with Akpom scoring his first professional goal with a rocket into the roof of the net in the Tigers' 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

Gunners midfielder Isaac Hayden, who has joined Akpom at the KC Stadium, impressed in central midfielder alongside former Tottenham star Tom Huddlestone playing a full 90 minutes in Steve Bruce's side's victory. He was, however, booked on the half-hour mark.

Arsenal's young Spanish midfielder Jon Toral also netted on debut at loan side Birmingham City, rising highest to head home what proved to be the decisive goal in a 2-1 win against Reading at St Andrew's.

17-year-old winger Ainsley Maitland-Niles also made his Championship debut for Ipswich Town, going 82 minutes in the Tractor Boys' 2-2 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park, which sae Bournemouth's Scottish midfielder Ryan Fraser score his side's second goal before the Bees netted twice at the death.
