Hull City legend Dean Windass believes Tom Huddlestone is capable of winning a future England call-up.
Huddlestone was ignored for this week's friendly against Denmark.
Windass wrote in the Hull Daily Mail: "With regards to Huddlestone, I am surprised he hasn't made the England squad as he has everything you need to be an international.
"I think Tom can consider himself very unlucky and he should be in the squad, especially an enlarged one of 30 players.
"Tom hasn't been at his very best in the last couple of months and maybe that hurt his chances, but he's shown in the last few games he's getting back to his best again.
"I don't think the door is closed for him and he needs to knuckle down and focus on his performances for City. All he can do is play as well as possible and then if it is not meant to be then at least he's done all he can to force his way into the squad."
