Hull City legend Dean Windass says Paul Gascoigne was the Cristiano Ronaldo of his day.
Real Madrid star Ronaldo turned 30 on the weekend.
Windass wrote in the Hull Daily Mail: "I played for Bradford against a Manchester United side that included the likes of David Beckham, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, I saw the tricky Italian Gianfranco Zola first-hand, as well as Arsenal's Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. The Gunners also possessed the toughest defender I ever came up against in the form of Tony Adams.
"But for the stars on show, the best player I ever faced was in the Scottish Premiership. That honour goes to Paul Gascoigne.
"During my time at Aberdeen, Rangers boasted a formidable squad, including Gascoigne. What set him apart from the rest? Well, on his day, he was unplayable."
