Hull City goalkeeper Steve Harper has urged former club Newcastle United to improve communication with fans.

Harper wrote in the Evening Chronicle: "Building some bridges with the fans is also vital.

"A believable mission statement that they can see being acted upon will help calm disillusioned fans.

"Then must have a go at the cups.

"These are important to fans especially Newcastle United fans."
