Hull chairman Pearson keen on FC Twente coach McClaren

Incoming Hull City chief Adam Pearson already has a shortlist of managerial candidates drawn up.

The People says Pearson is willing to give manager Phil Brown at least two games to prove he's the right man.

But Pearson has already been working overtime and doing homework on possible replacements.

Steve McClaren - the popular choice among the fans - is top of the emergency hit list to come in for Brown, with Alan Curbishley, Paul Jewell and Burnley boss Owen Coyle also being mentioned.

Former England boss McClaren has just signed a new deal with Dutch table-toppers Twente Enschede and is in the Champions League.

But Hull think there is a chance he could be tempted to return to the club where he was a hero as a player - and he still has a house locally. His compensation and salary would not put them off either.
