Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has confirmed they've failed with a bid for Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies.

Duffen told BBC Radio Humberside: "We've made a bid for Kevin Davies but Bolton have said he's not for sale."

Davies, 31, would have brought plenty of experience to the Hull squad, having made over 200 appearances for Bolton, after previous spells with Chesterfield, Southampton and Blackburn.
