Hull City caretaker boss Mike Phelan has revealed that he remains far apart from the club on an agreement regarding the permanent managerial position.
Phelan took charge when Steve Bruce departed from the club three weeks before the start of the new season and has made an impressive start in his job by leading the Tigers to three wins in all competitions, including two in the Premier League.
However, Phelan has not yet agreed a deal with the Humberside club and his representatives have now issued a statement to address the speculation regarding his future at the KCOM Stadium.
It reads: "To avoid further speculation we wanted to clarify the situation regarding Mike Phelan's position at the club.
"We remain in talks with the club's current owners but are still wide apart on an agreement.
"As he has done over the last seven weeks, Mike will remain 100 per cent focused on preparing the team for their next match."
