Following Hull's promotion back to the Premier League, manager Bruce is believed to be scouring the transfer market to strengthen his squad and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mason had been reported as one of the targets for the Tigers.
Confirming his interest in Mason, Bruce has now gone on to state that he would be keen on signing the 25-year-old if he is made available by Tottenham this summer.
Bruce admitted: "I don't know if he's available but if he did become available, he's the sort of player who would interest us.
"Again, for me, it's always difficult to talk about other players in contact because I've had no communication with Spurs at all.
"If he's available, and we can afford him, then I like Ryan Mason. He's the type of player who would do us great."
