Hughton won't place 40-point figure on Norwich

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton says he will not put extra pressure on his players by setting a points total.

The Canaries currently sit 15th on the Premier League table on 28 points, four above the drop zone, but Hughton is not about to set them the customary 40-point goal for teams trying to avoid relegation.

"To be honest, I just don't know," he said ahead of Saturday's home clash with 13th-placed Stoke City.

"And I don't want to be putting a figure on it. I just want to make sure we give ourselves every chance to get as many points as we can from every game we have to play.

"Whatever it takes, it will take, but we just want to concentrate on getting the results we need."

Norwich lost 4-1 to Aston Villa last weekend which was their fourth straight away loss. The Canaries go into the Stoke fixture having won two and drawn two of their past four home outings.
