Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has stated he will not spend for the sake of it in January and will only buy if he can improve the first team. The Eastlands boss will not spent the sort of money he has in the past two transfer windows and will only be tempted into the January sales if a marquee signing becomes available.
"We had to go to the market in January this year and we bought really well," said Hughes.
"But other times you can make mistakes and you don't get value for money.
"We look strong so it would have to be a good player to come in, in January and have an impact and be better than what we've got."
