Hughes admits Fulham confidence lifted after Werder Bremen thrashing

Fulham players can draw great confidence from their 5-1 friendly defeat of Werder Bremen, says defender Aaron Hughes.

The scoreline was dominated by a hat-trick from Zoltan Gera.

"It's something to build upon and use to go forward," Hughes told fulhamfc.com. "But today and next Saturday are two very different games, which I'm sure everybody understands. Today it was nice to try a few things that we've been working on this week in training and use it as a boost to morale. Obviously, we're still reaching full fitness, but all in all, a result like this against a team like Werder Bremen is very good to take into next week."
