Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has promoted two academy youngsters to his senior squad for preseason.

James Alabi and Lucas Dawson have been invited by Hughes to join training with the first-team squad yesterday.

Powerful striker Alabi is one to watch from the under-21s squad, having already gained first-team experience on loan at Scunthorpe last season, says The Sentinel.
