Huddersfield's Higginbotham joins Motherwell on loan

Huddersfield Town striker Kallum Higginbotham has joined Motherwell on loan.

The 23-year old returns to Scottish football after leaving Falkirk to join the Terriers in January 2012 where he has since had loan stints with Barnsley and Carlisle United.

"I have gone down there and it's not worked out how I wanted it to," said Higginbotham who was signed by former Huddersfield manager Lee Clark prior to Simon Grayson taking over.

"I have come up here to ignite my career and I'm thankful to the gaffer for giving me this chance.

"People have different opinions and I just think I have not been given a fair chance at Huddersfield. That's just my own opinion. Every time I have pulled on the shirt I think I have done myself justice.

"I need to be playing. This is a good chance to get some minutes, hopefully get some goals and get the confidence back like when I was playing at Falkirk.

"Then I'll have 12 months left on my contract and who knows?"
