Huddersfield boss David Wagner is pushing to close a deal for Hertha Berlin defender Marvin Plattenhardt.
The Mirror says Wagner wants a new left-back and is targeting Plattenhardt of Hertha Berlin after a move for compatriot Erik Durm hit the buffers.
Plattenhardt, who is also being tracked by Everton and Bournemouth, started Germany's opening defeat to Mexico in place of the ill Jonas Hector before Joachim Loew's side embarrassingly crashed out in the group stage.
Wagner knows Huddersfield need strengthening after they were nearly relegated last season and has already signed Juninho Bacuna, Ramadan Sobhi,
Terence Kongolo and Ben Hamer for a combined £25million.
