Huddersfield owner Hodgkinson sacks Siewert

Huddersfield owner Phil Hodgkinson has sacked Jan Siewert just two games into the Championship.

Hodgkinson wielded the axe after their loss to Fulham extended their winless run to 14 games.

Siewert did not appear after the match and remained in the dressing room with his players for over an hour after the final whistle before a club official confirmed his contract had been “terminated".

Terriers' No 2 Mark Hudson is expected to become caretaker boss for the second time this year.

Ivan Cavaleiro dealt the fatal blow to Siewert as he went from zero to hero to earn Fulham a rare away win with his first goal.
