Huddersfield, Newcastle eyeing Empoli midfielder Miha Zajc

Huddersfield and Newcastle are eyeing Empoli midfielder Miha Zajc.

Zajc has lost his starting place at Empoli this season.

“Miha is a player whose style is based on technique, fantastic vision and understanding of the game," agent Jaka Lucu told Tuttomercatoweb.

“He thinks faster than most players and (former Empoli Coach Aurelio) Andreazzoli had a similar way of viewing football, appreciating his creativity.

“Iachini's approach is far more realistic, defensive, so naturally Zajc doesn't fit into that approach. There's nothing wrong with that as such, but the plans were different at the start of the season. Things have changed at Empoli.

“Miha has proved he can play at the level of a top club, even in a team under constant pressure to secure survival. It therefore makes sense to think he can move to Germany, Spain or especially England.

“I say this diplomatically, Italy will no longer be his first choice career path. It's true that at least two Premier League clubs have shown interest in Miha. He is the kind of player who is increasingly appreciated in England, because he brings added value and the speed with which he works is ideal for the Premier League."
