Huddersfield in talks for Reims defender Julian Jeanvier

Reims defender Julian Jeanvier is wanted by Premier League new-boys Huddersfield Town.

The Daily Mail says the 25-year-old, who was voted best defender in the French second division last season, can play at centre-back or left-back and has one year left on contract.

Fulham have also asked about the former Lille and Nancy player who scored three goals in 29 games last season.

Jeanvier only joined Reims from Lille last summer for £425,000, but Terriers boss David Wagner is keen to bolster his defensive options.

Jeanvier, who has had loan spells at Mouscron and Red Star, would relish the challenge of testing his abilities at a higher level.
