Huddersfield Town are financially safe in the event they get relegated.
There is some concern the club's wage bill would be a problem if they were back in the Championship, given the lower revenues.
But chief executive Julian Winter says the wage bill is protected in the event of relegation to the second tier.
When asked if relegation could be a disaster for the club, Winter answered on BBC: "No, never.
"We have been clear since Day One that whatever we do in the Premier League won't ever damage the club in the longer term, whether we stay in it or go back down.
"The club, under the ownership of Dean Hoyle, is very good, very creative and very positive, creating a great atmosphere of togetherness, and never, ever going to damage the future of the club potentially.
"Other clubs have done, but each to their own.
"This club is strong, has a strong platform in the Premier League and will have a strong platform in the Championship (should it come to that)."
