Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle insists they will buy in January.
The Terriers' club record-equalling seventh straight defeat at Fulham on Saturday has left them five points adrift of safety at the foot of the table.
But in a New Year message to fans Hoyle has promised the West Yorkshire club will be “active" during the January transfer window in a bid to retain their top-flight status after defying the odds to survive last season.
“I know many of those moments will live with Town fans forever and I'm immensely proud of that," lifelong fan Hoyle said.
“However, I'm also not one for lingering in the past and now we turn our attention to 2019."
