Huddersfield Town have burned off Premier League competition to land Port Vale winger Luke Daley.
The Huddersfield Examiner reports the relegated side have beaten Liverpool and Southampton to his signature.
“Luke decided on Huddersfield because he felt they were the best team for his development as a pro footballer," Daley's father, Terry, told the Warrington Guardian.
“Luke's always had interest from clubs but he was happy where he was at Port Vale. When he was around 11 to 12 he went to Everton for four months and then decided he didn't want to sign for them, that he wanted to go back to what he called 'his team Port Vale'.
“It's his job now, he will be getting paid from July 1st. He just has to continue to work hard."
