Huddersfield beat Fulham for first win of season

Huddersfield Town have a first win for the season after victory over Fulham on Monday night.

Huddersfield ended their long home scoring drought as Timothy Fosu-Mensah's headed own goal gave them their first win of the season and sent Fulham bottom of the Premier League table.

Fosu-Mensah got the final touch of the ball to send it into his own net as he jumped with Christopher Schindler to try to head away a Chris Lowe left-wing delivery.

It had been 659 minutes since Huddersfield found the net on home soil - through Tom Ince's injury-time winner against Watford on 14 April - and it was reward for a performance that showcased energy and endeavour in the first half and discipline and commitment in the second.

Fulham weren't in the game before the break and while they improved, they have now conceded a record-equalling 29 goals in the opening 11 games of the campaign.

Monday's defeat exacerbates what has already been the Cottagers' worst ever start to a top-flight season.
