Howe urges Bournemouth fans to ease Wilson expectations

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has urged fans not to get carried away with Callum Wilson's form.

Wilson netted in the 1-0 win over West Brom last weekend - his first goal since coming back from six months in the treatment room with ruptured knee ligaments.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “When you are coming back from a long-term injury I think you do need a goal to almost feel fully fit again and I think we saw the difference right after he scored in his running and appetite. That's carried on this week in training and he's been bright and looks full of confidence.

“But historically people always tell you that it takes time to get back to peak form.

“After he scored the hat-trick against West Ham last season it was looking like he was going to have a fantastic campaign and it may take time for him to get back to those levels."
