Bournemouth manager Eddie Howewas thrilled for the fans after the Cherries secured a 2-0 win in the south coast derby against Southampton on Tuesday night.
Goals from Steve Cook and Benik Afobe were enough to secure all three points for the Cherries at Vitality Stadium in what was the club's first league triumph over the Saints since 1958.
"I am very pleased for everyone," he said.
"Especially the supporters. I think we knew how big of a game it was for them today, it's been such a long time since we've beaten Southampton.
"But we were on it tonight and the crowd were very good. They got behind us and we gave them something to cheer about.
"The whole team functioned and when we do play well and the whole team is performing, we are a very difficult team to beat."
