Howe slams 'nasty' Ampadu tackle on Bournemouth star Defoe

Eddie Howe was not in the best of moods in the post-match press conference, after his Bournemouth side were knocked out of the Carabao Cup following a 91st minute Alvaro Morata winner.

Howe's side battled throughout the game, but did not get the just rewards.

And Howe was not pleased with a tackle from young Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu on Jermain Defoe. The English striker went off with an injury after the tackle only 16 minutes into the game.

"It looks like he has damage to his ankle ligaments," Howe added. "It was a nasty tackle."

Chelsea will face Arsenal in the semi-finals, while Bournemouth are left to concentrate on the Premier League and FA Cup for the remainder of the season.
