Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is pleading for immense support from the home faithful as the club begin their Premier League campaign.
Promoted Cardiff are the first team to visit Bournemouth this season, as the club hope they can extend their stay in the Premier League beyond this fourth year.
The Cherries finished 12th last season and boss Howe wants to crack the top ten.
He knows the players will need fans behind them to achieve such goals.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Howe said: "I don't think it changes season upon season – please back the team through thick and thin, the good times and the bad.
"We need the supporters the same as we always have but probably more than ever now because expectation levels inside and outside the club rise all the time.
"All I can ask them is just to have their unconditional support, as we know we have always had previously."
