Howe confident Fraser will stay at Bournemouth, but extension...

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes that Ryan Fraser will be at the club for the coming season.

The winger is in high demand, especially given he only has a year left on his contract.

He was linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham, but nothing materialised.

Howe believes that Fraser will be a Cherries player when the window slams shut in early August.

Asked if Fraser is close to signing a new deal, Howe said to reporters: "No developments in terms of that situation.

"It goes in line with what I said earlier – we are very keen to keep our best players."

When asked if he was confident the player would remain at the club, Howe said: "Yeah, I am confident that we can keep the squad together and keep adding players the other way to make us improve.

"I think it's part and parcel of being a footballer at this level [speculation about the future].

"Especially if you're excelling and doing well, you're going to have people talk about you, write about you and speculate.

"I would urge any player in that situation to ignore the talk and just play football and do what you do best. I think Ryan's done that very well."
