Brad Davis will not feature for the United States national team in the upcoming 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup due to a knee injury.
The Houston Dynamo midfielder had been at the side's training camp in Nashville, however an aggravation of bruising in his right knee means the 33-year old will miss the tournament, which kicks off next week.
Greg Garza, who plays for Club Atlas in the Mexican league, has been brought in to replace Davis at the camp.
The US kick off their defence of the regional title on July 7 with a meeting with Honduras in Frisco, Texas.
