Hosogai departs Bayer Leverkusen for Hertha Berlin

Hajime Hosogai has left Bayer Leverkusen to join newly-promoted Hertha Berlin.

The 26-year old Japan international has penned a deal worth €1million to join Die Alte Dame who won the 2.Bundesliga title over Eintracht Braunschweig by nine points.

Hosogai, who joined Leverkusen from Urawa Reds in December 210, made 17 league appearances this season for the Lions as they finished third in the Bundesliga.

During his time at the BayArena, Hosogai was sent on loan to Augsburg on two separate occasions in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.
