Beijing Guoan coach Hong Yuanshuo has urged the people of Beijing to show their support for Chinese football tonight.
Guoan host Japan's Kawasaki Frontale at Beijing Workers' Stadium, needing just a draw to get through to the Round of 16 in the Asian Champions League, and Hong says plenty of support will see his team triumph.
"The match is not only a contest that Beijing play for ourselves it is related to the reputation of Chinese football," said Hong.
"We definitely want Chinese clubs to gain a foothold in the continental tournament. Therefore, we will go all out to achieve a satisfactory result."
Beijing captain Zhang Yonghai admitted the players were feeling nervous leading into the match but said they were ready to put their best foot forward and get the result required to finish on top of the group.
"It is not abnormal that players feel a bit uneasy before a crucial showdown," he said.
"The most important of all is to hold our nerve throughout the game.
"I believe our coaches have made a good plan for the match and what we need to do is stick to the plan."
