Holland coach Ronald Koeman has encouraged Memphis Depay to leave Lyon.
Amid talk of Tottenham planning a January move for the former Manchester United attacker, Koeman says the Dutchman should be considering his options.
He said, "The fact that he does not play for the biggest team in the world obviously has no consequences for his place in the national team. But if he plays in a bigger club it would also be better for us.
"Lyon is also a major club that always plays in the Champions League. It is hoped that all players will play for the biggest clubs that are actually challenging for the big prizes. I think he is the kind of player who should play for such a club. If he were in the Premier League or any other major club it would be fantastic for him. But you have to ask him about his plans."
