Holland boss van Gaal backed in for Tottenham job

Louis van Gaal is being heavily backed to become the new manager at Tottenham this summer.

The Holland national team boss is being linked with the White Hart Lane role, currently held by Tim Sherwood, but reports indicate that he will be replaced at the end of the season.

Sky Bet has slashed the odds of van Gaal coming to north London to 2/5 after opening him at 1/2favourite.

Van Gaal is set to leave his job with the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) after the World Cup and take up the reins at Tottenham following a disappointing campaign which began under Andre Villas-Boas and will end under Sherwood.

Other managers in the running for the Spurs job include: Southampton's Mauricio Pochettino (10/1), Ajax boss Frank de Boer (14/1) and Spurs legend and current USA manager Juergen Klinsmann (16/1).
