Holgate urges Everton to stay 'level-headed' after Man Utd loss

Mason Holgate has urged Everton to recapture their early season form.

The Toffees' strong start has been diminished, with Saturday's loss to Manchester United saw them fall to seventh on the table.

And Holgate says his teammates must stay 'level-headed' to regain their confidence.

"It was good to start the season like that but ultimately it wasn't going to stay the same through the entire season," Holgate told Everton TV.

"It was important to not get carried away and think we were the best team ever. Equally, we'll have parts like this and it is really important to not get carried away.

"We have to stay level-headed and know how good we are as a squad and go out and prove it.

"People like me and Seamus Coleman have been here a long time, so it is down to us to show what this club is about and show that fight.

"We need to step up as a team. It is three games, there is nothing we can do about them. We have to put it right going forward."
