Hoffenheim midfielder Ilay Elmkies is interesting Manchester City.

BILD says the 18 year-old Israeli is on City's radar this season and a deal for January could be struck.

Elmkies comes off contract in June and he can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from January 1.

The youngster didn't make the bench for last night's Champions League defeat to City, but he is being discussed inside the Etihad campus.

Elmkies has spent his pro career with Hoffenheim.
