Hoffenheim coach Nagelsmann explains England absence of Spurs, Chelsea target Toljan

Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann insists he doesn't expect to lose fullback Jeremy Toljan.

The 22 year-old is inside the final year of his deal and BILD says Tottenham, Chelsea and Napoli are all keen.

Nagelsmann left Toljan at home for Hoffenheim's friendly win over Derby County and says he expects him to stay.

"There is no sign suggesting I will lose players. If I want a player to go, I tell him this to the face and do not take him to the game like a little boy. That would be a sign of leadership weakness for me and I do not believe in it," he said.

However, explaining Toljan's absence, he reasoned: "His physical condition suggests that a game would not make sense. It was better, just because he is a high-speed guy, that he trained twice at home."
