Roy Hodgson has been speaking about his new contract and the expectations this brings.

"I'm very pleased to sign my extension. The intention was known from both sides but it's nice to have it done now," he said.

"People can't give you assurances [of transfer funds] but everyone at the club is aware of the fact that it would be nice to have some investment in the team and strengthen in some areas. But you can't offer guarantees because every player has their price."
