Hodgson to make wholesale changes to Fulham team

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson will make up to nine changes for his side's Europa League clash with CSKA Sofia on Thursday night.

Hodgson will change almost the entire starting line-up to the team that beat Everton 2-1 on the weekend with back-up keeper David Stockdale likely to keep his place in goals and defender John Pantsil retaining his spot.

"Once it looked like we'd have a lot of players missing I went the whole hog and changed the squad completely," Hodgson said, defending his decision.

"The team I put out will be competitive. Only one of them has not played international football.

"We are happy to be in this competition but the most important thing is Fulham staying in the Premier League."

Hodgson is expected to change back to the same team that beat the Toffees when they face Wolves this weekend.
