Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has dismissed qualifying for Europe this season as unrealistic and admits his side still have relegation fears.

"We are an awful lot of points off the teams at the moment who have got those positions in their grasp, so it's not something that occupies my thinking very much." Hodgson said.

"There might be an extra place this year as we know, I hope not, because I wouldn't like to see Manchester City lose their place. But that is a fact of life that there might be an extra place so you would need to go further down."
