Former Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham is happy to hear Andy Wilkinson is being offered a new one-year deal.
He wrote in The Sentinel: "I'm not sure if Andy Wilkinson will be involved at Man City on Saturday, but it's great he's going to be offered a new 12-month contract.
"If you cut him in half he would bleed red and white stripes. In fact, he's been cut that often we already know that.
"But he does have a decision to make because he hasn't played much this season and I know he's hungry to play.
"It's a tough call for him, but whatever happens he will always remain a credit to his hometown club."
