Patrick Bamford needs continuity in order to develop into a top striker according to Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink.
The 22-year-old, who had an unhappy loan spell with Crystal Palace in the first half of the season, will spend the rest of the campaign with Norwich City after completing a temporary move to Carrow Road on Sunday.
Regarding Bamford's shift to Norfolk, Hiddink is hoping the former Middlesbrough loan star can experience regular football in a bid to put his best foot forward after stagnating in recent months.
"I've seen him in training and practical games, some exercises we did recently," said Hiddink.
"He's a typical striker who needs to play a lot.
"If he'd stayed at Chelsea it's not good for him, he must play and have competition."
On his loan to Norwich, Bamford added: "The most important thing for me now is to get back playing.
"I've had six months of limited action, which is in stark contrast to last season. That's what I want to do personally, but it's also about helping Norwich to get the points required to stay in the league."
