Hiddink: Chelsea must follow Arsenal, Man Utd models

Guus Hiddink has told Chelsea to follow the examples of Arsenal and Manchester United if they want sustained success.

On FA Cup semifinal opponents Arsenal, Hiddink said: "Arsene Wenger has been there a long time.

"But it shows the club has had his philosophy and strategy about how to play and how to act, with their education of young players and their transfer policy.

"It shows the work there has been serious for a long period.

"Arsenal are a good model. Manchester United are also a good model. And we don't have to look away when we think about our own club.

"There have been many changes in management. But people here know it has been too much of a change in recent times.

"To have stability, you must go for a longer period. You can plan in advance what you can win in two years as well as set out short-term targets.

"Things have happened here that weren't always in favour of stability."
