Hicks sees Liverpool win Dallas Cup

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks saw the club's reserve-team win the Dallas Cup last week.

The Reds clinched the Dallas Cup after a 3-0 victory over Mexican side Tigres in the U19 Super Group final on Sunday.

The triumph was capped by a trophy presentation carried out by LFC co-owner Hicks.

"He gave the trophy to Stephen Darby," Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv. "Beforehand I took him round the dressing room to meet the lads and I think they responded very well to that."

The tournament saw Liverpool score 26 goals, two of which came from the prolific Krisztian Nemeth in the final.

Ablett added: "He did well, as did Andras Simon scoring in the semi. Craig Lindfield got six goals overall, so our strikers are really hitting form at the right time."
