Hibs boss Ross has no doubts about potential of Leeds, Arsenal target Doig

Hibernian boss Jack Ross has no doubts about the potential of fullback Josh Doig.

Leeds are said to be interested in the left-back, who has enjoyed an excellent 2020/21 campaign in the Scottish Premiership, but they face competition from both Celtic and Arsenal, says Leeds-Live.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Ross was asked if Doig could emulate compatriots Arsenal star Kieran Tierney and Liverpool's Andy Robertson.

Whilst the Hibs boss said it is early days for the teenager, he feels it is not setting the bar too high for Doig to compare himself with those players.

He said: "We run away with ourselves very quickly when young players make a big impression.

"But Josh undoubtedly has a mindset and temperament allied to really modern attributes as a full-back, which will enable him to have a really good career.

"There are parts of his game he needs to improve on but I think he can improve them, which is key.

"If he can get to the levels of the guys mentioned that would be outstanding but it's not a pipe dream for him to have that sort of ambition."
