Hibernian pushing Trakys towards full fitness

Hibernian boss John Hughes is hoping Valdas Trakys will get match fit to help alleviate his striking problems. The Lithuania forward came on as a late substitute as struggling Hibs went down 2-1 at Celtic on Saturday.

Hibs left Glasgow with their poor record this season extended to just one win in nine games, leaving Hughes under increased pressure to get a win against St Johnstone next week.

And he said: "It's always difficult and to get something at Celtic Park. You have to get clean sheets and losing the second goal gave us a mountain to climb.

"When you look at the injuries we have to big Colin Nish and Darryl Duffy, we are a bit short.

"We have to get Valdas Trakys fitter, he needs games. We will be working him hard to get him fit."
