Chris Herd may've played his last game for Aston Villa.

The Aussie midfielder has signed on-loan with Wigan Athletic this week.

The Express & Star says with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign he could have, theoretically, played his last game for the club.

Herd was a surprise inclusion in Australia's Asian Cup squad, but an Achilles injury forced him out without featuring at the tournament.
