Hercules have announced the signing of Juventus striker David Trezeguet to a two-year contract.
Trezeguet left Juventus this weekend after a decade with the Italian superpowers, during which time he won four Serie A titles - not including the two that Juve were stripped of in the match-fixing scandal - and scored 171 goals.
Speaking earlier on Monday after arriving in Alicante, Trezeguet revealed he would be fulfilling a dream by playing in Spain.
"I wanted to know the Spanish league. For me it was an important objective in my career," the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship winner was quoted as saying by radio station Cope Alicante.
Of Hercules, he added: "I've seen a team with ambition who want to do things well.
"I'm very happy to be in Alicante and I'm going to complete a dream. After spending 10 years in a league like the Italian, having played at a club as important as Juventus, having won so many titles and being the leading foreign goalscorer of the team, this for me is a new adventure."
