Henry thrilled as NYRB respond with resounding win over Montreal Impact

Thierry Henry was overjoyed after New York Red Bulls returned to the winners list in fine fashion on the weekend.

The Red Bulls blitzed Montreal Impact 4-0 to go second on the Eastern Conference table, bouncing back from their lethargic 2-0 loss to Colorado Rapids last week.

Henry was delighted with the performance: "We had to respond after the game against Colorado and we did.

"It was very important we weaned to start very strong, which we did, and then we kept on going. That was the key."

Henry set up Eric Alexander for his brilliant 10th minute opener before scoring himself in the 16th minute with a lovely side-footed volley from Fabian Espindola's inch-perfect ball for his first goal in five matches.

Henry then provided a third goal by sending a corner to Tim Cahill who powerfully headed home in the 63rd minute before Peguy Luyindula wrapped it up with a penalty conversion with two minutes remaining as the Red bulls went fourth on the overall MLS table.
