Henry, Terry linked with Aston Villa job

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is keen to hear from Aston Villa after the sacking of Steve Bruce.

The Mirror says Villa sacked Steve Bruce on Wednesday amid mounting fan fury after just one win in 10 matches.

Wealthy owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have now tasked new CEO Christian Purslow to secure a high calibre boss before the visit of Swansea on October 20 — their first match after the upcoming international break.

Arsenal legend Henry was first considered when Villa were taken over in July at the same time as Henry left his TV job with Sky Sports.

The Midlands club are also considering an audacious move for Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez but his frosty relationship with Purslow, who he blamed for his exit from Liverpool, could be a sticking point.

Chelsea great John Terry, who played for Villa last season and has made it known he wants to move into management, is also in the frame.
