Henri Lansbury has rejected a contract pay-off from Aston Villa.
The midfielder, who joined Villa from Nottingham Forest in January 2017, was recently omitted from Dean Smith's 25-man Premier League squad.
Lansbury was made available for transfer by Smith at the end of last season with John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Marvelous Nakamba, Conor Hourihane and now Chelsea loanee Ross Barkley all ahead of him in the midfield pecking order.
But he didn't move on before the EFL transfer deadline and The Athletic reports Villa offered him a contract termination on reduced terms which he rejected.
It's claimed Lansbury wasn't interested in leaving without receiving the full value of his contract which expires at the end of this season.
